Description of the Applet.
Its simple, user-friendly, easy to access applet and also have fun.
In this applet, we aim to show the mathematical concepts of solar system. We can connect solar system with mathematics because it includes mathematical facts and figures about all planets like: Average Distance from the Sun, Equatorial Radius, , Equatorial Circumference, Volume, Mass, Density, Surface Area, Equatorial Surface Gravity, Escape Velocity, Sidereal Rotation Period (Length of Day), Sidereal Orbit Period (Length of Year), Mean Orbit Velocity, Orbital Eccentricity, Orbital Inclination to Ecliptic, Equatorial Inclination to Orbit, Orbital Circumference, and Minimum/Maximum Surface Temperature. Also we displayed the movement of planets within their orbits.
Explanation:
The applet we have made can help students and teachers to connect solar system with basic mathematical concepts. With the help of this applet, Geography teachers and students can also understand many facts and figures about each planet which they want to know. They will find Geo Gebra very easy and as any 2-D shape can be made. The applet is very simple and easy too. Users of all level could access this applet. We have added different features in this applet.
By this applet students can clarify their mathematical concepts. Teachers can use it for making the students understand. It can be used from lower level to the higher level.
Suggestions:
When you are new to this applet .You can use this applet when you are learning it and could work on it to be perfectionist in making an applet.
If students are not taking interest in their studies then this applet is helpful for teaching for gaining their attention towards the mathematical concepts.
You will find all fun here within this applet and would enjoy on working on this. If the users want to know about mathematical calculation of a solar system then this helps them.
Problems we faced:
When we were using it we started also new to this applet then we worked hard and finally accomplished to make an applet. We even did not have resources (software – Geo Gebra Webstart and Java) and learning material to access the applet. we searched and then download and installed. We practice it at our home and finally succeeded in making an applet. It was really very hard to cope up with such unaware software.
How were we able to make an applet?
We were able to make a website with the help of our teacher Ms Bushra Shahzaib. She showed previously made applets and with the help of those applets we were able to make such significant applet. We practiced using those previous applets and instantly made a new applet of solar system and we enjoyed much while making it and it happened just because of the collaboration of our whole group and our teacher who made us take an initiative in such magnificent software.
